Manu National park in Peru has more species of monkeys than any other place on earth.  In this beautiful nonfiction book, Melissa Stewart introduces readers to each of the 14 different species that live in the park.  Each spread begins with a couplet introducing one unique thing about the monkey on that page.  These short couplets are perfect for reading out loud.  Additional short passages of information are included for those who want to know more about each species.  Even more information is included at the end of the book.  This includes information about group size, diet, lifespan, and predators.  The end of the book also includes a size comparison chart.  Steve Jenkins cut paper collage illustrations are stunning as usual.  Each spread also includes an illustration about where in the levels of the rain forest the monkeys live.  This book provides fascinating information about a variety of different monkeys in a wonderfully written and gorgeously illustrated way.  Highly recommended.
