REVIEW

Humble Pie doesn't mind letting others take the lead and get the credit. After all, who pays attention to pie when cake is available. However, when Jake the Cake doesn't provide the help Pie needs for their assigned school project, he realizes it's time to speak up. With his typical humor and wordplay, the author shares with readers the value to be found in both humility of heart and the courage of speaking up and seeking help when needed. As with the other books in the Food Group series, Oswald's illustrations add to the sweetness of the story with the adorable characters and humorous touches. A skiing cake, anyone? A delicious reminder that there is room for everyone to shine and be appreciated. Great for reading together during story times one-on-one or in groups. A fun addition to a series well-loved by kids. Recommended.
