REVIEW

This take on "Old MacDonald has a farm" presents readers with a charming rhyming text that introduces a variety of different plants. The catchy phrases such as "With a weed-weed here and a pluck-pull there, here it's red, there it's ripe, everywhere it's ripe-ripe" make for a fun read aloud. The book could easily be chanted or sung with the music from the original. In addition to all the fun from the song, the book introduces young readers to different plants, how they grow, and how they are cared for and harvested. A fun book to use in farming or agriculture units. The illustrations are fun and bright, showcasing the main character, a woman, and the plants she's growing and harvesting. The book ends with Miss MacDonald and her friends/family enjoying a fabulous meal.
