PICTURE BOOK FICTION REVIEW : Sabrina Sue--The Epic Adventure by Priscilla Burris
ABOUT THE BOOK
Sabrina Sue and her fearless pal Froggy have journeyed to the mountains, the sea, the city, and even to space. Even though each adventure has been a rousing success, her farm friends always try to convince her to stay home! They can’t imagine why anyone would want to leave the cozy farm.
What if the nervous animals could see for themselves that there’s nothing to fear? Sabrina Sue extends an invite, but will her farm friends decide to take a chance or play it safe?
REVIEW
Sabrina Sue enjoys her small adventures at the farm where she lives as well as hanging with her farm friends. But she also enjoys traveling. She invites her farm friends to go on a trip with her but they are reluctant, giving excuses such as "Isn't it too noisy?" or "Aren't you scared?" She decides to go without them. But a night of exciting dreams inspires the other animals to take the risk and go with her. An eventful hot air balloon ride turned caving adventure that ends with an unbelievable coincidence would seem to discourage the nervous animals from trying it again but surprisingly seems to feed their desire for adventure. Now it's Sabrina Sue who wonders if she's ready for yet another adventure. A fun story of friendship and adventure with some interesting page turns required to fully appreciate the story and the book's design. A reminder of the joys and trials that taking a chance can bring. Recommended.
