REVIEW
As in his Jasper Rabbit picture books, Reynolds presents students with a creepy story, this time in chapter book form. With the same creepy vibe combined with Brown's deliciously striking illustrations, Reynolds has another winner on his hands. Even the ending will leave the reader with a strong dose of confusion and creeped-out feelings. No happy endings to be found here. But for young readers who enjoy scary books this new series opener will fit the bill. Reynolds has a knack for taking innocuous objects and making them scary. Tonsils can be a pain but don't usually track one down and put one in a jar for show-and-tell. Many children will clamor to read this book; more sensitive readers may wish to avoid. Highly recommended for the right reader.
