Food for the Future provides readers with a great introduction to a variety of different farming methods used around the globe. Not only does the book make a great teaching tool, but a fascinating introduction to the ingenuity of farmers. Salt farm, food forest, honey farm, and mushroom farm, along with other kinds of farms are highlighted in two-page spreads with two lines of text. Each farm is identified by name and location. The inclusion of pronunciations for words such as quinoa and Entwine-Nawe people help in making the book easier to read. Greenhouse pods underwater where plants grow, oyster nurseries, circular gardens; the variety of different methods used for growing food make for fascinating reading. Most of the book is made up of two page spreads with appealing, colorful illustrations makes for a great introduction. The back matter includes more information about sustainable farms in general and each of the highlighted farms specifically. The inclusion of a map, and author's note and illustrator's note add to the value of the book. The book is a must for educators who teach about agriculture or geography. A great
