There’s nothing better than snuggling up for storytime with your kids. Sharing a good book together is about much more than the story – It is about the small moments with your child:
· Rocking and whispering On the Night You Were Born to your baby
· Watching your child clap his hands as he hears his name in his favorite story
· Seeing your reluctant reader eager to curl up and read a book again and again
· Taking a breath at the end of the day with that extra special snuggle and story
At Put Me In The Story, we create a personal connection between you and those special books you love. Our partners are the world’s greatest characters and favorite bestselling books. In our stories, you can assist Doc McStuffins on house call, explore the world of great women throughout history, suit up with Avengers, or simply tell your little one just how much you love them.
THE MAGIC OF BOOKS
Now I don't have children myself. But I work with them everyday. And I have three nephews and a niece that I adore. One of those nephews is really into superheroes like many young boys his age. And yet thanks to the efforts of myself, his parents, and grandparents he and his brother have learned to enjoy reading. Something that I feel is very important, not only for his future schoolwork, but simply for the pure pleasure of it. One of the things I really enjoy doing with the children I work with is reading aloud to them. Even the 5th graders enjoy a great read aloud. And there is nothing quite like seeing the eyes of a child light up in pleasure when they discover a book they like, especially when it's a child that rarely reads.
On an individual level, what better way to get to know a child or develop a relationship with that child than to look at, read, and discuss a picture book. Chapter books work as well, but there is something special about a picture book, even the older students enjoy them. Even I enjoy them immensely. ;) In fact one of my favorite holiday traditions is to find a new Christmas picture book to share with my family.
Put Me in the Story provides a way to add an additional personal touch to reading a picture book with your child. Each book has a photograph of your child and his/her name placed throughout the book. Your child is bound to enjoy seeing his/her name in print and read in the story. For myself, I have a nephew who loves to imagine he's a superhero, so the Avengers book is my choice for him.
